Home

St John’s is a growing church family that welcomes all. Our aim is to explore and grow in our faith  individually and  together in an open, prayerful and friendly way. We have a number of different services throughout the week and month that reflect our richly-diverse congregations. You are always assured of a warm and friendly welcome at St Johns.

Congratulations

Revd Alison Wooding has been appointed as Priest in Charge to the Benefice of Kimberworth & Kimberworth Park in Rotherham.  Her appointment follows her Curacy at St John’s Ranmoor.  Please hold Alison in your prayers as she prepares to move to her new role.

Memorial Service Friday 31st October at 7.30pm – A service of Light & Hope

This service is to remember those we continue to love but see no more. If you would like to remember someone by their name being read out during the service then please print their name on the sheet at the back of Church. This is a service for everyone, whether you have lost someone in recent times or would like to remember someone who has died many years ago. If you know someone for whom this service might be of help in remembering their loved ones in a time of reflection and prayer then do let them know.

Friday 7th November – 8.00pm – Service for Peace & Reconciliation

To mark the beginning of our Remembrance weekend this service will include our choir singing the Faure Requiem and will also include poetry and readings from the 1st & 2nd World war. Why not invite someone along who you think might be interested.

Remembrance weekend

As part of our Remembrance weekend in November we are hoping to put together a display of pictures and artefacts in the Church from the 1st & 2nd World wars, as well as anything that links people to those who served in our armed forces down the years. Do you have any old pictures of relatives or maybe friends that you think might be good to include in such a display? If you do then Revd Neil would like to hear from you, it could include pictures, medals, newspaper cuttings, old uniforms etc. anything that you think might help us as a church to remember those who served in the armed forces.

Remembrance service Sunday 9th November – 10.30am

As part of our season of invitation we now have available special invitations for everyone in the congregation to pass on to someone who they know, to invite them to join our service of Remembrance of the 9th November. Why not begin to think who you will invite?

Operation Christmas Child - Samaritan’s Purse

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children around the world, by sending them wrapped shoe boxes filled with things that children will enjoy. Following how well people here at St John’s responded last year to the appeal we shall be doing the same again this year. Watch out for more details in coming weeks, but why not begin thinking about what you will put in your shoebox?
