The vacancy for an Incumbent at St John’s is now being advertised on the Diocese of Diocesan website (Diocesan website). The vacancy is only open to people currently working in the Sheffield Diocese.

The Group’s film ‘Avoid’ Waste‘ is now available.
Inspired by the message of ‘Enough food for everyone IF….’ would like to complement their work with Christian Aid by collecting emergency food supplies for families in crisis in the North East of Sheffield during the month of May. There will be a collection point at the back of church and the sort of gifts that would be appreciated are: tinned meat/fish/Halal meat/vegetarian, Tomatoes(tinned), Milk (UHT or powered), Soup, Jam , Tea bags/instant coffee. Bank Holiday Monday Organ Recital – Monday 27 May
The next in our series of Organ Recitals, on Monday 27 May at 8pm will be given by Laurence Lyndon – Jones who is Assistant Director of Music at Coventry Cathedral. He will be playing an interesting and varied programme of music by Widor, Vierne, Stanley and Bach. Admission is free with a retiring collection.
Sarah Hills – South Africa – Sunday 2 June (2-4.00pm)
Sarah Hills will give a talk (with pictures!) about her recent work in forgiveness and reconciliation in South Africa. She will focus on the ‘peace train’, which St John’s kindly sponsored – a 27 hour train journey taking 50 survivors of a bomb to meet the perpetrator in prison. There will be space for discussion and prayer, finishing with refreshments before the service of holy communion at 6.30pm.
Prayer Fellowship
Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10.30 am to 12 noon. This is a group for those in ‘ retirement’ and all are welcome. For information please contact the Parish Office.
