What's happening at St John's?
A warm welcome to our website. Our range of services and events mean that all are welcomed unconditionally,whatever age or background, and will find a Christian home that is growing together.
As a growing church family our aim is to reflect the Sheffield Diocesan vision; to be a part of growing a sustainable network of Christ-like, lively and diverse Christian communities in every place which are effective in making disciples and in seeking to transform our society and God’s world.
Morning prayer at 8.30am every day except on Fridays & Sundays This short (20mins) service takes place in the side chapel of church. A time to begin the day with prayer and reflection. All welcome.

Appointment of new vicar at St Mark’s, Broomhill- It has been announced that the new vicar of St Mark’s, Broomhill will be Revd Sue Hammersley. Let us keep Sue and the parish of Broomhill in our prayers as they prepare for her installation which will likely be in September.
Funeral of Lawrence Kershaw- The funeral of Lawrence Kershaw who was a member of our church family here at St John’s for many years will take place on Thursday 23rd July at 2.30pm in Church.

Mid-week Services – Evening prayer will be said at 5.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the rest of the summer period. Choral services will resume on the week beginning Sunday 6th September.
Prayer Fellowship – we will not be meeting this Thursday (23rd) due to people’s holidays and we will make different arrangements in the autumn.
Choir Tour – Our Boy Choristers, Girl Choristers, Consort, Songmen and Choral Scholars are currently on tour in Germany. They will be singing in Rüdesheim at Evangelische Kirchengemeinde, in Wiesbaden at the Anglican church of St Augustine’s of Canterbury, and in Speyer at Dreifaltigkeitskirche. Let us keep all of our choirs in our thoughts and prayers.
Organ Recital – Monday 27th July at 8pm The next in our series will be played by Louis Mann. Many of you will remember Louis. He was our Organ Scholar a few years ago, and is now at university in Newcastle. His programme will include music by Elgar. Admission is free and there will be a retiring collection.
Common fund display- At the back of church there is a new display board with details about our Diocesan common fund. Do take a few moments to have a look at this important aspect of our church life together.
New to Ranmoor? Has someone new moved into your street? If they have then do let Revd Neil know and he will drop off to them a welcome pack from the church.
Burngreave food bank - Did you know that as a church we support the Burngreave food bank? There is a blue box at the back of church that can be used to put items donated in. (non-perishable goods please).
August Organ Recital – This will be given by local organist Nigel Gotteri on Monday 24th August. Everyone welcome. Admission is free and there will be a retiring collection.

Parish Magazine Out now!- The July issue of our Parish magazine ‘Inspire’ is out now at the new price of £1.Copies are available in church or from the parish office.
Toddler & Baby Groups - Thursdays (in term time) from 10-11.30am at the Parish centre. All children from birth to pre-school welcome. New children, parents and helpers always welcome. Safe, carpeted room which is great for babies and crawlers. £1.00 per child includes a drink and a biscuit for parent/carers and children. 50pmfor additional child. What happens in our Parish Centre?
The Ranmoor Parish Centre is used by a wide variety of groups, meetings and celebrations. Information about the regular users and details about the facilities available at the Centre can be found on the Parish Centre website. Groups who regularly use the Centre include yoga, Pilates, art appreciation, local history, uniformed groups and singing for children and adults. If you are interested in hiring our facilities, please get in touch.

Each week we produce a ‘News sheet’ that contains the service information, readings, gives the names of people to be remembered in our prayers and provides information about forthcoming events.
