Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make the Christian Aid Collection for better health care in Sierra Leone so very successful.  We have been able to send £4478.36 plus an estimated £360 gift aid for the 2019 appeal.  This could not have been achieved without all your help and generous giving.

Vision DayPlanning the future for St John’s – Looking ahead and making choices…where do we want to go as a church community; what are our priorities:  Children and young people? Our musical tradition? Social justice? Mission, discipleship and learning? This will be a morning for everyone in the congregation to come together, share ideas about our priorities for the next 10 years and how we can get there. Saturday 13th July in the Parish Centre from 9.30 to 2pm  - We have decided to make it a bring and share lunchThere is a sign-up sheet at the back of church so please sign up to come along and join us.  We have produced a leaflet with some questions on which you might like to take to give you some prompts to think about for the vision day – please pick one up from the back of church or download it here:VISION DAY FLYER

Messy Church – We will be having a Messy Church on the morning of the vision day – 13th  July from 10.30am -12.30pm  All parents with children invited to come – if you would like to drop your child and go into the vision day for part you can, or you can just come along to Messy Church and enjoy all the crafts we have for children.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Guidance about GDPR has recently been issued by the Diocese. We are required to ensure that all personal information is kept secure and that people only receive information that they have agreed to receive. We have started to make changes, a consent form is being sent out to everyone on our contacts list to ask whether they wish us to keep in touch with them.  These are also available to complete in the office and the corridor of the parish centre.  If you wish us to keep in touch with you, please respond to the consent form as quickly as possible.

Wednesday Lunches: A great opportunity to meet new people and have a meal together, every Wednesday in the Parish Centre.  We have entertainment and talks occasionally straight after the lunch which people who attend really enjoy. Please download our Wednesday Lunch flyer: Wed Lunch Flyer

Food Bank Box: We have a food bank collection box to put food in to support the Burngreave food bank. Our food bank box is located at the back of church.

Baby Basics: Baby Basics is a charity that supports new mothers and families who are struggling to meet the financial and practical burden of looking after a new baby.  We would welcome any donations of new baby wool for the box in the office. We have volunteers who are happy to knit clothing and blankets for new born babies.

Parish Magazine out now! The latest issue of our Parish magazine, ‘Inspire’, is out now at a cost of £1.  Copies are available in church or from the parish office. If you would like to have your copy posted to you then this can also be arranged.  Please contact Claire in our Parish office.

Toddler & Baby Groups: Thursdays (in term time – the week after schools start and the week before schools end) from 10-11.30am at the Parish centre. All children from birth to pre-school welcome.  New children, parents and helpers always welcome.  Safe, carpeted room which is great for babies and crawlers.  £1.00 per child includes a drink and a biscuit for parent/carers and children.  50p for each additional child.  A great way for parents and children to meet friends.
