Building Closure

ESSENTIAL REPAIRS ON THE CEILING FOLLOWING
A RECENTLY DISCOVERED STRUCTURAL FAULT

In October 2017, following a piece of ceiling falling to the ground, the Churchwardens and PCC decided, with great regret, that the church building would need to be closed.

While the church building is closed, the Bishop of Sheffield has given us permission to hold public worship in the Ranmoor Parish Centre (which is opposite the church on Ranmoor Park Road).

Scaffolding has been installed throughout the church, with particular care to protect the church organs from damaged caused by dust.  Over the Christmas period a survey of the church ceiling was carried out.  We are currently waiting for the recommendations of our Architect who is determining the required works

Unfortunately, we are not currently in a position to know how long it take to obtain the necessary agreements, identify funding for the work and have the repairs completed.

During the closure, the temporary service pattern are in place. These are all shown on the Home page of our website.  All are welcome at our Services.

We very much regret the anxiety that the closure of the church building may be causing people, particularly couples planning their wedding during 2018.  Arrangements are in place to keep people informed and provide them with information about their options.  Our prayers go particularly to these couples and their families.

Finally, we are working as quickly as possible to resolve the problems and to reopen the church building once it is safe to do so.

Opening hours for the Parish Office are 9.30am to 2.00pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Out of these hours, only in the event of an emergency, please contact the Churchwardens.
