The Education Group

The Education Group exists to support, coordinate, and encourage all aspects of education and learning in our congregational life.

We hope to provide opportunities for learning about all aspects of our faith, to promote the value of education for discipleship, and to encourage life-long learning about our faith.

We aim to offer a variety of styles, from small study groups to larger one-off events, and of content ranging from introductory courses for those exploring the Christian faith to opportunities for those more established in the faith to share, explore and deepen their faith together. Recent and planned activities include: • Weekly groups during Lent and Advent • A Quiet Day during Lent and Advent • Fortnightly Bible Study groups • A Christian basics course for confirmands and those wanting a refresher course • The Emmaus Group, a faith-sharing group normally based on a book • A one-day conference with the Bishop of Sheffield We also offer to support and coordinate learning/training offered by other groups within our church community, such as the education of the choir boys and girls, If you have any queries or ideas you wish to share with us about what the church should be doing in this area, please contact Sandra Green, via the Parish Office on: 0114 2301199

The group currently comprises: Sandra Green (chair), James Grenfell, Mike Clarke, Jane Dalrymple, Deborah Page, and Jill Seed.
